To the Skeptic

Here are perhaps a couple of helpful quotes to examine before wasting your time with some of the age-old and tired anti-God arguments,

“Never judge a philosophy by its abuse” — St. Augustine

“The denial of Christ has to do less with facts and more to do with the bent of what a person is prejudiced to conclude.” – Ravi Zacharias

Then there are these helpful posts from Neil over at Eternity Matters,

Poor arguments to make with theists (Part 1, Part 2)

“The denial of the Flying Spaghetti Monster has to do less with facts and more to do with the bent of what a person is prejudiced to conclude.” – Bobby Henderson

The point here is that quotes which question the intellectual honesty of people who disagree with you are generally not a gateway to open dialogue.

  5. Laz says:

But aren’t we all prejudiced, slanted in some way?

  6. James Henderson says:

Certainly, but doesn’t mean we are condemned to continue thinking in such a way. I do believe it is possible to approach issues with an open mind and fight our prejudices with factual evidence. I would venture a guess that this section of your blog (“To the Skeptic”) would not even exist unless you sincerely believed that you had examined the evidence and found the truth.
