The Patriot Act

No, the title is not in reference to the much maligned piece of legislation, but rather to a decree which I think many NFL pundits and talk show hosts should attempt to push through Congress.

Obviously the 7-0 New England Patriots are beating opponents senseless. It’s pretty safe to say that when the Pats’ average margin of victory is more than 20 points.

Quarterback Tom Brady is having a dream season and is on pace to break all sorts of passing records, in large part due him finally having some quality receivers (Randy Moss, Donte Stallworth, and Wes Welker).

It will not surprise anyone if this team makes it all the way to the Super Bowl, but…

The Indianapolis Colts are also undefeated after shellacking the Jacksonville Jaguars last Monday night. Given this and the fact that the Colts are the defending champs, it’s difficult for me to see how they are not given as much run as the Pats. Until someone else is crowned champ, the Colts are still at the top.

All the Patriot love flooding the talk show airwaves needs to be focused into a bill, “The Patriot Act”. Let’s just have Congress, we could even get Ted Kennedy and John Kerry to sponsor it, decree that the New England Patriots are the best team in the NFL and crown them (thank you Dennis Green). No need for a new trophy presentation, they can just run up the following shot:

Forget their upcoming game against the Colts (during which us folks in Houston, will be watching the Texans-Raiders barn burner, thanks CBS!), forget the playoffs and the Super Bowl, let’s just declare that the Pats are the Champs.

I suppose this rant is my fault for listening to sports radio all day at work.

One Response to The Patriot Act

  1. JT says:

They are who we thought they were……they are who we thought they were. If you want to crown em Laz, then crown em, but they are who we thought they are.

Seriously, Titans, dark horse pick over the Pats.

    I hate the Pats.
