Madonna thinks we should be like Jesus

According to this story, the Material Girl thinks we should “all need to be Jesus in our time.”

In a common misrepresentation of Jesus’ message, she says:

Jesus’ message was to love your neighbor as yourself, and there are people in need. I hope that people got that message…

While He did teach the “Golden Rule” (as did many before Him) it was not the main thrust of his message.

Did He not keep talking about dying only to rise on the 3rd day? Did He not say that this is what the Hebrew Scriptures (most notably Isaiah 53) say about Him? What of our sins being washed away?

I wonder what Madonna thinks of the Great Commission?

Sorry to disappoint you, Madonna,(well, maybe not sorry, but for lack of a better term it will have to suffice) but absolutely no human being can be Jesus in his/her time. The uniquely born Son of God in hypostatic union is just that… unique. God and human in one person.

we can’t become like jesus but we sure can act like it. this world needs to be more polite to the less unfortunate. Most people don’t like madonna but this is the only thing i htink that i almost agree w/her.
