Tim Hardaway’s Confession

During a radio interview, former NBA great Tim Hardaway declared to the the listening audience (and to the world I suppose) that he is a homo(wait for it)phobe. He’s going to take some Heat (no pun intended) for some of the comments he made during this interview. Of particular note was the following:

I let it be known I don’t like gay people. I don’t like to be around gay people. I’m homophobic. It shouldn’t be in the world, in the United States, I don’t like it.

This interview probably marks the end of Hardaway’s association with any public organization, he might even lose his job as the head coach of the ABA’s Florida Pit Bulls.

I wonder if Tim will reveal the reasoning behind his hatred, and I wonder if he feels the same hatred towards fornicators and adulterers.

[Update: Hardaway has apologized, predictably enough]

Honesty should be tempered with discretion, wouldn’t you agree? If Hardaway has apologized for his lack of discretion that is one thing, but if he is apologizing for his true sentiments… well, honesty oftentimes offends.
