Not for you

“So when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, ‘Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?’  He said to them, ‘It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority…’ ”  (Acts 1:6-7)

The 11 Apostles are so amazed at seeing their Resurrected Rabbi that they are emboldened to ask Him if He’s going to restore the kingdom.  He replies with a mild rebuke, which applies to them as well as to us.  The difference is that the 11 took it to heart whereas the rest of us throughout the centuries have not.  What do I mean?  Well here Jesus is telling us that the dates of His Return and the subsequent establishment of the Kingdom are not for us to know and thus we should not concern ourselves with trying to find out.

This has not been accepted by some people for to this day, predictions are still made.  Anyone who claims to know the date of His Return is a false prophet and nothing that person says should be taken seriously.
