When I saw this headline, “Pope prays alongside Islamic cleric during visit to historic Istanbul mosque”, I promised told myself I wasn’t going to post about it.
So much for that.
Uncle Benny, I know that you are an educated man. You have forgotten more than I will ever know regarding a myriad of things. [...]

I have started something this week. What’s that? Peeking into the complicated mess that is church history. The book I’m using to sate my amateur interest is “The Story of Christianity” by Matthew A. Price and Michael Collins. Though an informative tome, it’s not an in-depth treatise as [...]

and not to mention Bud Adams’ dream come true.  Yep, Gary Kubiak can turn any quarterback, even David Carr, into John Elway. Mr. McNair here’s to listening to your football “geniuses” (mainly fired GM Charley Casserly who is now an analyst with CBS) when it comes to 1st round draft picks.
Congrats to Vince Young [...]

According to this article, there is such a condition called, “holiday rage.” What is it? It’s stress caused by typical holiday experiences (long lines and jammed parking lots) which bubbles over into tempestuous outbursts.
The article cites several factors which contribute to this ‘condition.’ One being crowded malls, another being staying under budget [...]

There are a great many things I could say regarding Friday’s sickening loss to the Aggies but I won’t. I don’t have time (even after 2 days) to make an exhaustive list. Well I will say one thing, or 2 :
Dear Aggies, Longhorn nation really likes Coach Fran and we had to let you have [...]

Among pagans it would not be surprising to hear such nonsense, and why not? They view Scripture as great literature (at best) or a handbook for oppression (at worst). That such fanciful ideas come from unregenerate hearts undercuts the legitimacy of these positions.
However, when Christians start believing this drivel it’s something else entirely. [...]

I have a problem. I thirst. I thirst for Scripture. There is always (it seems) before me this desire to always be studying and exploring God Revealed Word. I assume that all of my brothers and sisters have this problem, but I don’t know since I haven’t asked. Maybe it’s [...]

It appears that Michael Richards (”Kramer” from Seinfeld) has committed career suicide. He didn’t do it by insulting his core base (see Dixie Chicks) but by spewing racial slurs at a couple of hecklers at one of his stand-up gigs.
In a charged, expletive-filled outburst, Richards invoked lynchings and dropped a few n-bombs on the [...]

“Iranian paper: Great War to wipe out Israel coming”
(H/t: Drudge)
Yep, that’s right, an editorial in an Iranian newspaper had the following to say:
“‘The great war is ahead of us, (and will break out) perhaps tomorrow, or in another few days, or in a few months, or even in a few Years… Israel must collapse,’ [...]

“Toys for Tots Rejects Jesus Doll”
What’s shocking about that headline (and thus the story) isn’t the rejection of the doll. It’s the fact that there exists a battery-powered “Jesus Doll” that spouts out Bible verses. What in the world is that about? Whose genius is behind it? From the above story, [...]
